The Music Studio

Founded by Renée Martin-Brown

"I have been teaching piano and vocal lessons for over 25 years and I enjoy it more with every passing year.  Along with teaching, I enjoy performing, choral conducting, accompanying, and directing summer musical theatre programs for aspiring performers.

I have an Honours Bachelor of Music Degree and I enjoy singing all genres of vocal music including classical repertoire, folk songs, sacred works, and musical theatre is my favourite. 

My studio offers diversity in all styles of repertoire and material is geared to each individual student’s goals. I believe in having a firm foundation in piano and vocal technique so that each musical journey is unique, rewarding and exciting for all students.  My students have achieved many prestigious awards at both the local and national levels and many have also pursued a career in music. I am also a recognized teacher through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and I teach from the requirements and repertoire of the Royal Conservatory of Music in piano, vocal, music theory and music history requirements for those students interested in achieving RCM certificates.  

I have a very large collection of music in my studio and I am continuously updating it to stay on top of current resources and repertoire choices. I believe that music offers connection through creativity. I appreciate each connection that music has provided in the last 25 years and I look forward to enhancing the musical journey of each student that travels through my studio."
